Chef Jeff Vincent is at it again with a how-to video on his unforgettable candied bacon recipe. These heavenly strips of bacon are smoky, salty, sweet, and make the perfect complimentary paring for Maple Bacon Coffee Porter.
Ingredients
- 1lb of Bacon (about 12 slices)
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
Bacon Rub
- 3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Course Ground Coffee
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
Directions
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
STEP 2: Mix all dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
STEP 3: Layout bacon and lightly drizzle both sides of the bacon with maple syrup.
STEP 4: Coat each slice of bacon generously with the dry rub mixture and shake
out any excess rub.
STEP 5: Place the bacon on a wire rack that is on top of a baking tray and make
sure that none of the bacon is overlapping.
STEP 6: Bake on the center oven rack at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes, then flip
bacon over and bake for another 10-12 minutes.
STEP 7: When bacon is done, carefully remove bacon from pan and place on
parchment paper to cool.
