Funky Buddha Brewery and Jose Cuervo have joined forces to produce not just a beer, but a tequila as well.

The new beer is named Mexican Coffee, an 11.3 percent ABV imperial stout aged in Jose Cuervo Traditional tequila barrels for four months with coffee and cinnamon added. In an email, John Linn, brand director for Funky Buddha, told Tenemu that after aging the beer in the barrels, they were then sent back to Jose Cuervo, which is finishing another batch of Tradicional inside of the barrels that will be labeled as “finished in Funky Buddha casks” when it is released.
