Packaging and Production Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Packaging and Production Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of production and distribution warehouse facilities to ensure metrics are maintained or exceeded to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.   This position will collaborate with Head Brewer, General Manager, Brewery Operations Manager and Brand Director to ensure our product meets market demand and scheduling timetables.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage daily packaging operations.
  • Running all equipment on an automated bottling line and manage operation of the manual (and future automated) kegging system.
  • Solicit, hire, train, schedule, and manage packaging, warehouse and maintenance personnel
  • Develop, execute, and hold staff accountable to Standard Operating Procedures for their respective departments
  • Communicate with brewmaster, head brewer and inventory manager about managing labor needs in other operations.
  • Schedule and manage preventive maintenance in conjunction with operations.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Ensure all process documents are complete. Must be computer literate and be able to function in SAP/Excel/Ekos environments.
  • Ensure compliance with SOP’s and update as needed
  • Manage all warehouse activities ensuring operational goals are achieved by determined deadlines.
  • Effectively manage packaging and warehouse employees, focusing on retention and skill development.
  • Promote a “Zero Harm” work environment through adherence to OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage site inventory control processes; ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and best practices.
  • Process orders accurately and in a timely manner according to SOPs and customer requirements.
  • Oversee daily production schedule in accordance with customer order demand and safety stock levels.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct all required employee training; including forklift and safety certification programs.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and ongoing review of trends & variances.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned by management.
  • Facilitate and/or conduct site tours for management, employees and customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Direct packaging management experience, including demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor employees
  • Experience running all equipment on a bottling line and managing the operation of a kegging system
  • Knowledge of and experience ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT HAZMAT and HACCP regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage production and distribution warehouse facilities
  • Exposure to high speed bagging lines or similar machinery
  • Material Handling experience
  • Warehouse Management System and/or Inventory Control software experience is preferred (Ekos preferred)
  • Proven ability to operate within budget guidelines
  • Experience facilitating effective employee training
  • Capacity to embrace and lead change in a constantly fluctuating business environment is essential
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment, plus ability to exercise solid judgement and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate both verbal & written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be forklift certified and able to operate forklift and other equipment as needed
  • Ability to comfortably lift and carry up to 55/lbs
  • Experience utilizing cycle count methodologies and performing full physical inventory counts preferred
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work off hours, split, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as required
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills and the ability to make high-level decisions based on available facts, brewing knowledge, and experience
  • Knowledge of brewing industry standards and trends

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Kitchen Supervisor serves as a Customer Service Ambassador by ensuring that the food we serve always meets or exceeds our standards of excellence at all times. RESPONSIBILITIES

A Marketing Administrator with Funky Buddha Brewery assists the marketing team with communications, fulfilling and mailing webstore orders and other shipments, and managing merchandise and consumable inventory. The ideal candidate should be passionate about craft beer, organized, and efficient, and should possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as customer service experience. Self-motivated, resourceful individuals thrive at Funky Buddha Brewery. Responsibilities include:

  • Answer and reroute general emails and inquiries
  • Check and answer general voicemail box
  • Provide customer service and troubleshooting via phone and email
  • Maintain webstore listings, add new items, and monitor stock
  • Fulfill and ship webstore orders and other packages daily
  • Maintain merchandise and consumable inventory and reorder product as necessary
  • Quote out, order, and receive new merchandise and consumables
  • Provide weekly sales reports and monthly merchandise P&L reports
  • Maintain lists using Excel/Google sheets
  • Submit brand approvals on a state and Federal level
  • Submit pricing sheets to chain retail customers
  • Enter emails collected for marketing purposes and maintain email lists

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency with computers including spreadsheet software such as Excel/Sheets
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • 21 years of age and up
  • Valid driver's’ license with clean driving record
  • Must be willing to submit to background checks
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Retail Sales Associate with Funky Buddha Brewery, the candidate will work in the merchandise sales area of our tap room.  The ideal candidate should be passionate about craft beer, be organized and efficient, and have excellent customer service skills.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provide excellent customer service to both walk-in and telephone guests
  • Acting as a source for brewery knowledge for our customers and as a first point of contact for guests visiting our tap room
  • Possess the ability to to work with several guests at one time, while maintaining individual customer satisfaction
  • Inform guests of any sales, specials or new merchandise offered and assist them with their selections
  • Keeping merchandise area and drink cooler displays clean, organized, stocked and visually appealing
  • Use POS to accept cash and credit card payments and keep the cash register totals accurate
  • Assist with monthly inventory process
  • Reduce loss by maintaining a watchful eye on the merchandise and processing accurate transactions
  • Facilitate and help organize brewery tours, as well as set-up and staging of special events

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Prior POS experience preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory controls and keeping detailed documentation and records of all production, raw materials, beer inventory movement and outgoing inventory. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, quick thinking, and exceptional problem-solving skills. This person must have the ability to stay on-task with multiple demands and priorities at once.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the management of all beer movement inside the brewery and outgoing
  • Work with current inventory system to maintain up-to-the-minute accuracy with inventory levels 
  • Development of inventory practices and standard operating procedures that benefit inventory accuracy
  • Work with production manager to ensure inventory availability for all outbound shipments
  • Logging all production in brewery management software
  • Research inventory discrepancies and resolve them with satisfactory outcomes
  • Assisting with monthly brewery production reports as they pertain to Federal and state level taxes
  • Procure freight and other services for the brewery, securing best available rates while staying within shipment requirements 
  • Order all raw materials and maintaining necessary quantities on-hand based on production schedule
  • Demonstrate smart ordering practices, demonstrating fiscal responsibility with considerations such as freight and quantity discounts
  • Responsible for receiving shipments, including product and keg returns, raw ingredient shipments, and any other large shipments received

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum three years' experience with inventory management and/or inventory management software
  • Computer literate with a deep working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel 
  • Experience with EKOS brewery management software preferred
  • Prior experience operating a forklift and/or OSHA forklift certification
  • Exceptional communication skills and unimpeachable character
  • Ability to multi task effectively with limited supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Funky Buddha Brewery is South Florida’s largest craft brewery, and part of how we get the word out about what we do is through our Street Team! This Street Team is made up of dependable, part-time on-call employees who have a strong passion for craft beer and a belief in our brand. Street Teamers are tasked with helping to set-up, execute and break down beer samplings, activations, and festivals. The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing, charismatic personality with a deep desire to share the love that is craft beer. Knowledge of craft beer styles, history, and brewing techniques are a plus - but a yearning to continue learning about brewing and the beer business is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with our events manager to create compelling interactions with our customers
  • Speak intelligently on our brands and educate consumers on the brewery
  • Conduct brand activations at festivals, events, retail accounts, and more
  • Care for and set up promotional equipment such as pop up tents, draft boxes, banners, signage, and flags

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21+
  • Must be friendly with an outgoing personality, unafraid to approach strangers and talk to them about beer!

A cellar operator is responsible for all aspects of processes related to fermentation, conditioning, treatment, clarification, carbonation, and any other processes required to achieve a final product ready for packaging. This employee must be a hard working, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry. The candidate should also be a sociable person who is comfortable occasionally representing the brewery in public. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assistance with yeast handling and management
  • Cellaring duties including fermentation management
  • Operation of centrifuge for beer clarification
  • CIP (clean-in-place) of brewing and fermentation tanks, and other equipment
  • Logging of all brewing related notes from brew day through fermentation, finishing, and packaging
  • Following SOP (standard operating procedure) in each phase of brewing, fermentation, and packaging
  • Maintaining clean brewing practices in the brewhouse and cellar
  • Executing preventative maintenance on all brewhouse and cellar equipment

As Florida Sales Manager for Funky Buddha Brewery, the candidate will directly be responsible for achieving budgeted financial, volume, distributor execution, and sales team results in the sales region. Business Management

Successfully managing all sales activities and financial results for the Region via building effective market plans, monitoring results, and communicating with distributor partners, retail partners, and brewery team members.

    • Market depletion trends as monitored regularly in VIP

Distributor Collaboration

Acts as the primary manager of all distributor relationships in Florida.

  • Annual Market Plan: Creates an Annual Market Plan with all distributors that includes a review of previous results, a brewery branding plan for the upcoming year, program plans, agreed-upon execution objectives, budget, and an overall execution calendar for the upcoming year. Presents the Annual Business Plan to each region distributor.
  • Business Reviews: Executes Business Reviews, with frequency set by Brand Director, with distributors to monitor progress toward goals and solidify or update initiatives.
  • Distributor Knowledge: Has detailed working knowledge of each distributor partner’s organization, go-to-market system, and contract. Cultivates positive relationships with all members of the management and sales teams.
  • Inventory: Monitors distributor inventories and orders.
  • Core Deliverables:
    • Distributor visits with frequency determined by Brand Director.
    • Assist in creating and deliver an Annual Market Plan for all region wholesalers.
    • Conduct 2+ business reviews with all region wholesalers annually.
    • Execute surveys (pricing, execution, or special projects) 2+ times per year at each region wholesaler.

People Development

Leads, manages, and develops Florida account management team toward achievement of market and individual sales and skill development goals.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Sets focus areas and specific execution goals with regional sales team that align with distributor goals as well as develop volume deeper in the portfolio. Holds bi-weekly sales meetings/calls with regional team and holds one or more region retreats per year.
  • Field Coaching: consistently spends time with sales reps in the field either selling as a team or working specifically on skill development to enhance reps’ skills in:
    • Selling Skills: Probing, Listening, Objection Handling, Closing, Business Math
    • Education: executing distributor and waitstaff educations, tastings, events
    • Quality & Troubleshooting: solving field package and draft problems.
  • Performance and Results: Conducts Annual Performance Reviews for reps, regularly monitors rep performance, and has formal periodic results and skill review conversations with written follow up.
  • Core Deliverables:
    • Bi-weekly meetings with account managers to monitor results and assist.
    • Monthly market visits with a scheduled skill development day and sales day with each rep.
    • Semiannual Performance Development Plan progress discussions.
    • Annual regional team building event

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Busser with Funky Buddha Brewery, the candidate will work in the customer area of our tap room. Successful candidates will be a vital part of our busy tap room and contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning Tables - Busser will spend most of their shift cleaning tables. This involves waiting for those at the table to finish eating, then clearing all of the dirty plates, glasses and silverware. The busser then wipes down and sanitizes the table, as well as sweeps the floor and chairs to clean up any food spills. The busser must also circulate the tap room and help table maintenance during the guest dining experience.
  • Garbage Duty - Busser must empty all of the filled trash cans and replace the used bags. They must bring filled bags to a dumpster. Empty boxes should be broken down and brought to the box compactor.
  • Spills - Spills in the tap room should be mopped right away and have a wet floor sign out for display to notify guests.
  • Customer Service - When the tap room is very busy, bussers must often help inform guests of how our operation works.This requires that bussers are prompt and friendly, so having good communication skills is a must for the job.

Funky Buddha Brewery, located in Oakland Park, Florida, is seeking a part-time Tap Room Server to join its growing team. Established in 2010 at its Boca Raton brewpub, Funky Buddha is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing methods with culinary-inspired recipes utilizing all-natural, food-centric ingredients. JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Server with Funky Buddha Brewery, the candidate will work in the bar and guest areas of our tap room. Successful candidates will be a vital part of our brewery and will contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve Funky Buddha Brewery’s craft beers in the tasting room. Be able to answer questions and make recommendations regarding our beer selection.
  • Fill and sell growler orders.
  • Sell Funky Buddha Brewery’s merchandise.
  • Be knowledgeable about Funky Buddha Brewery’s beer and brewing process to share with customers. Also, be able to discuss the elements of craft beer to patrons.
  • Be willing to be trained on the art and science of craft brewing and craft beers.
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the Point of Sale system.
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change, if applicable.
  • Clean bar area and glassware. Wash and sterilize glassware.
  • Clear and reset tables and clean bathrooms in tap room.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to manager.
  • Be familiar with Funky Buddha Brewery’s promotions and sales and assist with special events.
  • Complete opening and closing duties under the direction of managers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid, State of Florida approved, server training certification and/or be willing to successfully complete training provided by Funky Buddha Brewery.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant/tap room operations and service procedures.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Possess basic math skills, possess the ability to handle money and operate a cash register and POS system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Punctual and regular, reliable attendance.
  • Honesty and Integrity.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge. Experience with an iPad is a plus.
  • Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor. Personable, kind, and customer service oriented.
  • Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The cashier's role is to ensure that each and every customer is served in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. This includes greeting customers as they approach the food counter, processing customer orders through the POS system, and notifying the kitchen staff of any special requests. This person will process customer transactions, resolve customer issues, and maintain his/her work area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet all customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Record customer orders into the POS System, ensuring each and every request is fully and accurately entered.
  • Inform kitchen staff, through the POS System or verbal communication, of customer special requests/adjustments.
  • Identify customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to correct them.
  • Perform returns and special transactions through the POS System.
  • Keep the "register station" stocked with all necessary items.
  • Clean and organize the "The Line" when necessary.
  • Notify management of all customer and POS System issues.
  • Consistently maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  • Perform other related duties as requested. Assist with expediting and food running.
  • Complete daily tasks from side work sheets

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Prior restaurant experience
  • Able to Use Touch-Sensitive POS System
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs
